Tommy’s here in Pune for a project. We decided to meetup at Koregaon Park, an area in Pune famous for speciality restaurants and the Osho Resort. As we both stayed at opposite ends of Pune, getting to the starting checkpoint took more time than expected.

German Bakery German Bakery

Right opposite to the Osho resort road is German Bakery. It is the most popular hangout place in Koregaon Park. At any time, you can see it packed to full by tourists from all parts of the world. The bakery looks like a small shed from outside. But don’t let the first appearance fool you. It’s famous for its “healthy food” and they sure aint expensive. Pic: The Interior | Stuff on display

ABC FarmOpus at ABC Farms

ABC Farms is actually some cheese and dairy product manufacturers. They have an area with about four restaurants, each catering specialized food like Tandoori, Hyderabadi, Italian etc.. We tried beef steaks from “Opus”. The ambience was good and so was the food. We left Koregaon Park soon after spending around 2 hours for the meal and reached Shivaji Nagar.

e-squareE-Square

E-square is a multiplex with 5 screens. “Up” was probably the only movie worth watching and we’d missed it by an hour. I wasn’t very keen on watching another flick. We left the place. But there was something there on display that made Tommy, the die-hard F1 fan, all smiles.

Kakade Mall

Kakade Center is right next to E-Square. I think it’s a new one as the top levels were plain empty. We didn’t spend much time at Kakade Mall and walked to yet another mall, “Pune Central”, which is like a 5 minute walk from Kakade.

An impressive one. 5 levels of shopping and a food court on top. (Pic: Interior | Alternate pic) This was the last place on the list and it was around 5:00 PM when I left for home. I had a really adventurous return journey. Two buses, one share rickshaw and 3 kilometers by foot.
